We have two kinds of goals: non-competitive goals, and competitive goals!
Non-competitive: Our main goal is to help you improve your learning ability and problem solving ability so you can succeed in high school, college, and whatever you do for a career! This is our primary focus. The competitions are secondary!
Competitive: ...but you can't easily tell if you're making progress without measuring, so we put on our "competitive hats" for more immediate motivation, and feedback on our progress. And besides, it's fun to win! (For those not wanting to enter contests, focus on improving you practice contest scores week-to-week.)
So what are our competitive goals?
Get our Ottoson team to this competition, and get our school listed on the "2022" line of this plaque:
We want to break up the "Lexington & Acton" party and get Arlington on the plaque for the first time!
Here's a look at what the 2020 Mathcounts State Final looked like, at Wentworth Institute in Boston. We want to be in this room, feeling confident and prepared!
We want to get some of these trophies, then sit back and enjoy the Countdown Round, hopefully cheering on our returning state champion to Countdown victory!
