Whether you're a newly elected or returning NCC, RHA President, NRHH Representative or simply an in-training (IT) or a student wanting to learn more, congratulations on entering the regional space! It can be a lot to tackle so here's a suggested start guide for not only navigating this guidebook but also starting and continuing term this year.
It can be a lot managing your on-campus responsibilities and regional responsibilities but do not fear we are here to make it as efficient, as fun and as impactful as possible!
There are 8 states and territories in the IACURH region, other regions encompass other states and territories of their own which we usually get to meet and see during the National Conference at the end of the academic year (in summer!) To learn more about the National Conference and NACURH click here!
IACURH was one of the regions to be established outside of NACURH, topping at about 62 years of affiliation.
IACURH is apart of 8 other regions and is signified by its new mascot - Summit the Stegosaurus!
If you're in the region - remember to affiliate and join the IACURH family! Talk to your advisor for more information about affiliation!
Click here to learn more about affiliation! Or email Thomas, the Regional Director at ia_director@nacurh.org
When it comes to you, IACURH is involved in three different conferences!
RLC - Regional Leadership Conference (11/15/24 - 11/18/24)
RBC - Regional Business Conference (Usually near end of February 2025)
NACURH - National Conference, where IACURH and other regions come together for one big conference (Usually end of May 2025)
In between, there are usually scheduled Representative and Business chats that your institution attends along with committee meetings you can apply for to be apart of the region!
Throughout the year, we recognize that you all are students, people, leaders in other organizations and are involved in a multitude of other responsibilities! To get started, scroll below to find information specific to your position!
As an NCC your timeline revolves around the IACURH one! As mentioned before there are three conferences where you will attend, one in Fall (RLC) one in early Spring (February) and one in late Summer (End of May), depending on institutional capability!
For RLC you usually start planning for this in August, after you have settled into your own institution following this RLC timeline! As this may be some of y'alls first conference its important to know that you can ask questions through Geneva and email, attend rep chats and office hours and ask your advisors and other board members for help around this time! RLC is a lot, take the time to plan for it to ensure maximum success.
Things to note for RLC:
RLC allows each institution to bring a delegation - a group of students besides the RHA President, NCC and NRHH Representative who can attend sessions during conference while the RHA President, NCC and NRHH Representative will attend business sessions called boardroom.
Again make sure you go over the RLC Checklist and visit the Conferences Tab to get a more in-depth look about RLC, especially about Award Bids, Roll Call, Banners and more!
This year RLC 2024 will be the weekend of 11/15 and hosted in Arizona State University - Downtown
For questions about RLC you can email Jacob the conference chair at @ia_conf@nacurh.org or contact them on Geneva!
For RBC, you usually start planning for this conference as soon as you can after RLC (make sure you take a break after!)
Things to note for RBC:
This conference is similar to RLC except you won't be taking a delegation and it is more business based which usually only pertains to RHA Presidents, NCCs and NRHH Representatives. You can also bring proxies and positions who're "in training" for these positions if they are being trained for the following year.
The RBC Checklist will be here soon!
This year RBC 2025 will be hosted at the University of Idaho!
For questions about RBC you can email Lily the conference chair at @ia_businessconf@nacurh.org or contact them on Geneva!
For NACURH, the process looks a bit different from the other two conferences as this is on a national level, not a regional one which means you see students from institutions all over the country, and good news you can also bring a delegation for this one! You usually start planning for this conference after RBC.
Things to note for NACURH
Some delegates to this conference can include members of your RHA/NRHH boards as a push to learning more about IACURH and NACURH to help get a jump start for the 2025-2026 year
Spirit items such as Roll Call and Banners will also be formatted differently for this conference
The NACURH Checklist will be here soon!
This year NACURH 2025 will be hosted at Illinois State University!
