This VFE is meant to take the students in a Latin American History Course on a virtual field trip to Lima, Peru—with a little history thrown in. Most students in my classes have not traveled widely in Latin America, except to the border regions of Mexico. This VFE gets them thinking about another region of Latin America. I chose Peru because it is a central figure in Latin America in South America.

Lima is a massive city of 11 million people. It is the perfect example of a primate city, the capital of the country, and the economic powerhouse of the country. It is divided into unique districts. It is also full of culture and museums that relate to the course content.
