Language & Culture Learning Objectives: Showing the students who are studying Russian in the U.S. and who are unlikely to travel abroad any time soon the city of Saint Petersburg at the time of high school graduations and the associated festivities; reviewing vocabulary pertaining to cities, studying, describing colors (of the fireworks).

Student Learning Goals: Reviewing the relevant vocabulary and grammatical structures; seeing their peers in Russia celebrating their high school graduation; getting acquainted with the main sites of Saint Petersburg.

Global Stance & Perspective: Showing the main celebration that occurs in the lives of high school students in St. Petersburg, Russia (their graduation); moving away from the narratives that currently dominate the media discourse on Russia, showing ordinary Russians celebrating their first major milestone in life.
