You will see that Year 11 go into lunch in the Canteen first every day – everyone else has a different place on the rota, but if you are one of the last groups into the Canteen, you will be one of the first for the Cube – usually everyone has bought their lunch and eaten it by approx. 1.10pm.
During your first few days at Arden, the Year 7 pupils go into lunch earlier, at 12pm; this is to give you the opportunity to see what is available and choose your lunch. After a few days you will be confident about which area you want to go to for your lunch and then you will join the rota (shown above). We will also be taking you on a tour of the school when you start and we will talk you to about how the lunch system works.
Pupils queue under the Library for the Canteen and staff will allow you access when it is your turn.
If you are advised by the Canteen staff that you have no money available on your lunch account, you should go to the P2 Office (Mr King) and ask for a lunch slip; when you go home you will need to remind your parent/guardian to top up your lunch account too. No child should go without lunch; please always seek advice if you are unsure what to do or where to go. We have lunchtime supervisors available and lots of staff who can help you.
We do not have cash in school and we use a biometric finger printing system – your parent/guardian has to give us permission to use this. If we do not have their permission you will be issued with a 4 digit code to give the staff at the tills.
