Dean's Remarks
CELEBRATION!!!
There is so much to celebrate!
As we approach Spring Baccalaureate and Commencement, we celebrate our Liberal Studies graduates. Congratulations Class of 2023! We celebrate our master’s candidates in Teacher Education and School Counseling/School Psychology!! We are so very proud of your accomplishments and can’t wait to see what God has in store for you!
We are delighted with the success of our faculty who were approved for rank promotion, first 3-year contracts, and first 5-year contracts (see list below). We recognize this was a vigorous peer and administrative review process and we celebrate YOU! Well done!
At the Faculty/Staff Recognition event on May 9, faculty and staff will be recognized for years of service and promotions, with faculty also recognized for earning extended contracts.
Congratulations to Dr. Catherine Hahs Brinkley (Teacher Education) as the lead researcher for two grants totalling $750,000 over two years. She will be joined in these projects by Dr. Cynthia Dollins (Teacher Education) and supported by Rebekah Harris. We celebrate YOU (see more information below)!
We're delighted that Dr. Maureen Latham, faculty/Superintendent-in-Residence in our doctoral program received a state-wide top honor (see more information below)!
We celebrate the February successful double accreditation visits for all APU educator credential programs! Rebekah Harris and I will meet with the Teacher Commission on May 4 where our reauthorization will be finalized; the national accreditor (CAEP— Council for the Advancement of Educator Preparation) will finalize their results after their October meeting. What amazing stories were shared by students, graduates, and employers!
What would you add to this list of things to CELEBRATE? Email us at schoolofed@apu.edu. We’d love to hear more good news!
Meanwhile, celebrate our many accomplishments by praising God for his provisions. In the words of Psalms 150 –
Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!!!
