I’m an Atlanta native who began teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic and quickly realized I had found my calling. I strive to create a supportive classroom where students feel confident expressing themselves, taking risks, and pushing their thinking. I love making math and science relevant through hands-on, engaging experiences to challenge students to think critically and creatively.

I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Elementary Education with certifications in ESOL and Gifted Education, and I recently earned my Education Specialist degree in Instructional Technology, Media, & Design. Outside the classroom, I’m a foodie who loves playing volleyball, traveling, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. I’m excited for another spectacular year at MES and proud to be part of this amazing community!

Mrs. Khalili- ELA & Social Studies

Hi families! My name is Arshia Khalili and I am thrilled to be teaching 5th grade this year at Morningside Elementary! I graduated from the Georgia State with a degree in business and Mercer University with a Master’s in early childhood education. I also hold endorsements in gifted education and science. This is my thirteenth year in education and eighth year at MES.

When I'm not in the classroom; I love spending time with my family. My children, Arya, 5 and Ethan, 3 are the center of my world. I also love baking, watching movies, cheering on my GA Bulldogs, and dancing to old vinyl.

My goal is to build a classroom environment where every student feels safe, confident, and curious. My teaching philosophy centers on hands-on, project-based learning. When I cannot wait to partner with you to make this an unforgettable school year
