Pink Panther Digital Citizenship Contract

As a member of the Pink Team at Prairieville Middle School, I recognize that having a school-issued Chromebook is a privilege, not a right.  Therefore, I agree to abide by the following criteria while using my device:

• I will only use my computer for school-related activities while I am at school and while I am at home.

• I will not email anyone during class time unless specifically directed to do so by my teacher.

• I will not take pictures or video with my computer while at school.  This includes taking pictures of other students, teachers, and classrooms.

• I will not use my computer to visit any websites/applications other than the ones my teacher directs me to during class.

• I will not use my computer to access any outside resources during a test or quiz, including google.

• I will not communicate with other students via a shared google application (such as a doc or a slide) unless specifically instructed to do so by my teacher.

• I will not use my school-issued computer to listen to music with inappropriate lyrics or videos with inappropriate language/imagery while at school or while at home.

If I choose to disregard any of the above criteria, I understand that I will receive the following consequences:

• For my first offense, I will have my chromebook confiscated for twenty-four hours and will not receive it back until I return a Computer Misuse Form signed by my parent/guardian.

• For subsequent offenses, I will have my computer confiscated for a week, and I will also receive a behavior referral.  

• If my computer has been confiscated, it will be my responsibility to ask my teachers for paper copies of any required assignments.  If I fail to ask for paper copies, I will not receive credit for any assignment(s) that have not been turned in.  Having my computer confiscated will not be an excuse for not completing my assignments.
