Welcome to The American Physical Society and American Association of Physics Teachers

2021 Physics Department Chairs Conference held virtually on June 3-4, 2021!

Designed by chairs, for chairs, the program will feature presentations, panels and discussions on timely topics. Based on feedback from last year’s successful virtual meeting, additional opportunities for networking and extended discussions with peers will be provided. Topics will include; department culture, student recruiting and support, teaching methods, and external factors affecting the physics community.

PLENARY SESSIONS

All PLENARY sessions will be held in Zoom meetings.

YOU MUST HAVE ZOOM v5.6.4 (765) or higher to fully participate in the PLENARY sessions.

All PARALLEL sessions and NETWORKING will be held on Gather.town.

Gather.town works well in Chrome and Firefox (Safari does not work)

You do not need to download additional software to use Gather.town. You can log in directly through your browser.

Recording: All introductory presentations and large group Q&A during plenary sessions will be recorded. Zoom breakout rooms and Gather.town parallel sessions will not be recorded. We encourage open and frank conversations among the participants during breakout sessions and parallel sessions. If you do not wish to be seen during any sessions, please keep your webcam turned off.
