Drama Classroom

The layout of our classroom is always changing. Most of the time the class will be up and moving around, but for times with explicit instruction, or teaching of content, the classroom is usually facing towards the board. This also can vary if students will be expected to work in groups. Other common setups include:

1. Desks in groups of anywhere from 4-7 people depending on activity or script size

2. Desks pulled to the outside of the room so that there are clear rehearsal sections.

****Generally speaking chairs on the right side of the room are not out unless we are setup for a performance day or improv workshop, otherwise they are stacked up to make room for movement throughout the classroom

Many posters are hung up around our class! From inspirational quotes, to quotes from Musicals and signed posters from shows that have travelled through the Popejoy Theater in Albuquerque, I love to create a colorful and fun environment in our classroom.

In our classroom we try to foster a sense of comm"unity" so there are postings of things going on at our school (STAR behavior), classroom Comm"unity" Standards for behavior and the theater community in Albuquerque.

I believe that the classroom should be fun and inviting so I put a lot of color into the room and the wall outside the class. We also show pride in our performances so they are displayed on the wall outside of the classroom.

The main whiteboard in our classroom!

"What are we doing today?" "What is the objective?" "What is today's date?" "Have we earned time to do improv on Friday?"

All information you need will be on this board :)
