The objectives of the crossroads program are to educate, support, prevent and reduce tobacco/nicotine, alcohol, other drug use, and to improve academic performance and overall student wellness.

Crossroads is a substance use prevention/intervention program. The program services are delivered by a group of licensed school counselors with training and experience in the field of substance use. This program is currently offered in all comprehensive high schools, with services available to magnet high schools and feeder middle schools within Albuquerque Public Schools.

Refer a VHS student 

Referrals can be made by anyone that is concerned about a Valley High School Student: parent, friend, teacher, administrator, nurse, school counselor/social worker, etc.  Referrals can be made for different reasons. Maybe you are concerned about their substance use, or suspect they may have an issue with substances, or they have been affected by someone else's substance use and need support. 

VHS student self-referral

Self-referrals can be made for different reasons. Maybe you are noticing that your substance use has been difficult to control or you want to stop using substance all together but haven't been able to.  You might just be curious about substances and you want information about different kinds of substances. Or maybe someone you love is struggling with their own use and it has or continues to effect you.
