Dismissal

To ensure social distancing and not have all students exiting the building at the same time we will slowly release students by grade level.

All students will be outside and ready for pickup or the bus at 1:55PM.

Students that are in a classroom with an exterior door will exit through that door.

All other students will exit through the door closest to their classroom. Teachers will lead and practice this with students so they know which door they will be exiting through.

For Students That Ride the Bus

Educational assistants will walk students to the bus and wait until all students have boarded. EAs will wait at different buses so we have supervision near each one until the bus driver allows them in.

For Students That Are Picked Up

Educational assistants will walk the pick-up students to the parent drive through area and will supervise them until they have been picked up. Students will be waiting in their designated circles (with their siblings) behind the metal screen. Students will wait on the colored wheel for their grade level:

• Yellow: kinder

• Green: First

• Blue: Second

• Orange: Pre-K

A duty member will look at your placard number as you drive through the loop and radio it to the back. We will call your child to meet you at the front pickup area.

All pickup areas will be by the blue flags in the front drive through loop. There will be signs directing you to the area.

Older Siblings at Edward Gonzales

If your child gets picked up or walks and has an older sibling at Edward Gonzales, the older sibling will be directed to our school. We will then pair them up with the younger sibling and they will wait together for pickup.

If they walk, we will pair them up together and release them to walk home.

End of Day Bell: 2: 00 PM

All Pre-K Students Are Picked Up

Teachers and educational assistants will walk students to the parent drive-up area and will supervise them until they have been picked up.

When you drive up, you will open the door where your car seat is located and wait by the door for your child to walk to you. The teacher and/or assistant will supervise your child as the walk to you. Please do not walk to the teacher or where your child is waiting in line. They will walk to you at your car.
