Hello! My name is Coley Hickman, I am so excited to get to work along side you and your child this year! The 2024-2025 school year will mark my 6th year teaching. Both my husband and I are John Baker alumni and love the surrounding community. The most important thing to me is building relationships with you and your child. Please send pictures and share your life with me as much as you feel comfortable. We are a Bobcat family!

Class Expectations

In our classroom we follow the school rules. My behavior management revolves around relationships and conversations. We work together to come up with solutions and consequences.
1,2,3 Laps for Me (Reinforcing School & Class Rules)
1,2,3 Laps for Me (Reinforcing School & Class Rules)
Students who need additional practice with school/class rules will be asked to walk laps during their recess. Students will be given a "1,2,3 Laps for Me" slip that indicates the rule they are working on. The slip must be signed by a recess duty & parent. This holds students accountable for their actions & serves as a means for communication between school & home.

Students will be recognized for their outstanding behavior through a variety of ways during the year. One way I like to ensure everyone is recognized is through our school wide Bobcat Honor Paw system. Students going above & beyond to show kindness and school excellence will be granted a paw. It is my goal for each child to earn at the least 2 paws over the course of the year.
