I am sad to announce that I have taken a different position in the district. I will be working for the Langauge and Cultural Equity department as an EL coach k-12. It was a pleasure working with the Alvarado community. I will greatly miss my students, colleagues and amazing parents of Alvarado.

Welcome to 2nd Grade!
My name is Benjamin Reyes and this is my second year with the Alvarado Elementary School team. I am so excited to have you in my class!
Education:
I have a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Western New Mexico University (WNMU). My masters degree is in Elementary Education with a focus in Reading, also from WNMU. As a Dual-Language teacher, I am both TESOL and Bilingual certified.
Experience:
I worked three years for New Mexico Pre-K in a Dual-Language program. Then I taught Kindergarten in a transitional model (90% Spanish - 10% English). I've taught a K-1 combo at Carlos Rey Elementary School in Albuquerque Public Schools. Now, I am very excited to go on to my third year of teaching 2nd grade Dual-Language at Alvarado Elementary School.
