INFORMATION

Communication:

  • Daily assignments and long-term projects will be in Google Classroom

  • Grades can be checked through the online grade book (ParentVUE). You should already have an account, but if not, please sign up as soon as possible..

  • Midterm reports will be sent home around the 5th week of each grading period.

  • Parent letters will be emailed and available on my website to let you know what’s going on in class. My email address is april.deangelo@aps.edu or you can text 505-750-2129. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

  • Parents should receive notification of their child’s upcoming IEP from their case manager approximately 2-4 weeks prior to the scheduled meeting. IEP meetings must be scheduled during the teacher duty day (8:05 am - 3:05 pm) to ensure that we have all the team members in attendance as required by law. Mrs. DeAngelo’s prep period is 1st period (8:19-9:19)

Homework Policies:

  • Classwork not completed in class, will need to be completed at home (in addition to homework), unless otherwise stated by the teacher. Homework will be assigned 3-4 times per week, (rarely on Fridays or before a holiday) and it must be turned in the FOLLOWING, unless it’s a long-term project. Assignments MUST be completed in pencil (or erasable pen) and ALL work must be shown when indicated.

  • I review the homework in class the following day, so that students can evaluate the work they do on their own, and learn from mistakes. This means that it is VERY important to complete the assignments on time. LATE WORK will only be accepted at full credit if parents communicate with the teacher regarding an issue at home (iex: family emergency, internet was down, etc...)

  • ABSENCES: Students are responsible for checking Google Classroom and getting any missed assignments from the teacher. Students will have the number of days absent to make up any missed homework for full credit.
