Classroom Set-Up
Social distancing (65 SQFT/person) – Social distancing is by individual classroom square footage size for how many students may occupy each space.
Student desks must be facing one direction unless divided by partitions.
Furniture may be rearranged in the classroom to allow for social distancing. Furniture may be marked to indicate social distancing and unused areas. Furniture will not be removed.
Tape will be provided to create walking pathways and label furniture as needed.
All classrooms will be provided a sanitation tote. Teachers and students will wipe down occupied spaces after each use.
No sharing of books/toys/equipment/supplies. Students should bring their electronic device to class.
There will be no eating in classrooms.
Hand sanitizer must be readily available/accessible to all students and staff in each classroom. When possible, hand sanitizer should be distributed when entering the classroom and in between activities.
Sanitation cleaning every evening - Custodians will clean and sanitize classrooms every evening
Teacher desks will only be sanitized if they are free of personal items and papers.
Overflow of classes may meet in the collaboration areas, but they must be cleaned before and after use and after/prior to bells by at least 5 minutes.
Every classroom has a sanitation tote that teachers may use to sanitize high-touch points throughout the day. The totes contain paper towels, hand sanitizer, sanitation wipes and sanitizing spray. Teachers will have a form to request items when they need to be restocked, and custodians will deliver these items to classrooms as needed.
Each week, teachers will receive 5 clean microfiber clothes each week that will be used to clean tables, desks, chairs, doorknobs, and other high-touch areas. There will be bins in the teacher's lounge to access clean clothes, and a bin to return used clothes to be washed. There will also be refills of sanitizing spray available in the lounge.
At the end of the day custodians will follow their cleaning schedule to sanitize each classroom. In addition to vacuuming, sweeping & mopping, they will focus on sanitizing high-touch points such as:
tables
desks
sinks
counters
door knobs
Classrooms will have a document by their door that will be signed indicating the room is sanitized.
