😁Ms. Brucker Welcomes You to Edgenuity Science Classes!
I am glad that you are joining me on our exploration of Science! I wanted to introduce myself and give everyone a little heads up. First, my name is Ms. Jacqueline Brucker and I have been teaching at eCademy for 5 years and have been a teacher for 20 years. My career also started first in laboratory science studying molecular biology and now as a National Board Certified teacher teaching Science and Computer Science and Coaching Robotics. I will be your teacher of record for your online course. (If you are taking more than one class, you most likely have more than one teacher. Check your StudentVue/ParentVue on Synergy-see directions below) Please follow the pacing calendar on Edgenuity and stay on target or else it will make it harder to finish at the end. Your course is open and available 24/7 starting as soon as your online subject teacher adds it in Edgenuity.
What do I need to do Now?
💻Join Google Classroom Brucker’s Edgenuity Science code: i46wcpw or follow this link:

🖳Edgenuity Tips and Tricks
🔍Biology, Chemistry, and Physics have online labs and projects. Please see the following on how to download, type on, and then upload into Edgenuity here.
Lab templates and project templates are available on eCademy website under ‘Important Links’ here
My Edgenuity Science Google Classroom join code above, has type-able Google doc versions of labs so please join above and look there. Come to my open Google Meet Tuesday 4-5pm using Google Meet link https://meet.google.com/fqq-ynkf-nch if you are having issues downloading ‘type-able’ labs and/or issues uploading it into Edgenuity.
Another way to open lab templates and projects: RIGHT CLICK the link and choose OPEN LINK IN NEW TAB then it will open for you
If you are having problems uploading documents into Edgenuity, Edgenuity prefers pdf documents. So when you are finished putting in your data, graphs, and answering questions, convert your Google doc to a pdf by selecting ‘File’ then ‘downloads’ then ‘pdf’. For Word documents select ‘File’ then ‘Save as’ and change the file type to pdf.

👉Students must submit laboratories, projects, and short writes since these are considered APS laboratory classes and you are given lab credit for completion.
If lab templates are turned in blank or an irrelevant document is submitted both your Lab and the Lab Reflection will be scored 1%. Be aware Labs and Projects are worth 15% of your grade so please contact me to re-submit these documents.
If plagiarism is detected the lab and the Lab Reflection will be scored as a 1% and cannot be re-submitted. Please use your own words and your own learning. You may search the Edgenuity video transcript and then put the answer into your own words. See this link for directions here
Again, regardless of plagiarism or not, labs must be completed in order to receive credits for a laboratory science course.
❓FAQs about Science Labs: Here are the most common questions about labs:
#1- Do we have to buy all the materials and do the lab at home?
-Answer- No. Edgenuity gives that option, but if the student continues in the program they will do everything virtual. Move the thermometer into the beaker- using drag and drop, etc.
#2- Do we have to print out the lab Student Guides?
-Answer- No. There are two 'Important Links' on the eCademy webpage here- 'Edgenuity Science Page' (and 'Edgenuity Math Page' ) where the teachers have put Google doc versions of the lab with directions on how to download them.
For example- Biology Edgenuity Science Page click here
📓Guided Notes- Go to Course Map. Find the blue Unit bar and click the + in the upper right hand corner.
Note:
I will be contacting students that are behind (below 60%) and students/guardians to give Edgenuity progress.
I will be checking Edgenuity Monday-Friday throughout the day, & as a courtesy 8/9pm and sporadically throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Students may communicate with their teacher through the Edgenuity message system in the course by going to the orange organizer and clicking on the Communication tab and then click on New Email. Use the drop down menu to select the instructor. OR most preferably, direct email given in Welcome Letters.
I suggest stay on target and above a 65% in your classes.
Students should be logged in and work on Edgenuity coursework daily. It is suggested you work 1.5 hours for each course which equates to about 1.5% in each class.
Being ahead in your coursework does not give you permission to stop working. You may finish your class early, and may be able to add another eCad Edgenuity class before the last add date! More credits done- yay! 🎓
