About ASC SHRM
The Appalachian State Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (ASC SHRM) is a dynamic student and faculty lead organization dedicated to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world HR practices. Our mission is to equip students with the essential skills and insights needed to excel in the field of Human Resources while fostering meaningful connections between students, faculty, and industry professionals.
At ASC SHRM, our primary focuses are enhancing industry knowledge and providing hands-on HR consulting experience. We host guest lectures, workshops, and panel discussions with HR professionals, allowing students to deepen their understanding of contemporary HR issues and network with industry leaders. Additionally, we offer HR consulting services to local businesses, where students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. Guided by experienced faculty advisors, our teams work on projects like developing HR policies and improving recruitment processes, enriching both our learning experiences and local companies.

SuperHeRo Summer Seminar

Three ASC SHRM executives recently attended the "SuperHeRo Summer Seminar," an engaging event focused on innovative HR strategies. It was hosted by 5 Local SHRM chapters, the seminar featured insightful sessions led by industry experts, covering topics such as leadership, employee well being, and how to unleash your Superhero. Our team had the opportunity to network with professionals and bring back valuable knowledge to enhance our chapter's initiatives.

Sarstedt Consulting Report

ASC SHRM recently completed a successful consulting project with Sarstedt, involving two dedicated teams. One team focused on enhancing the onboarding process to improve new employee integration, while the other concentrated on developing initiatives to boost employee wellness.
