Why Join Sustainability?

Interested in Psychology, Human Resources, or Sustainability/Sustainable Development?

The Sustainability Project Team is one of the three student-led project teams within HR Science. This team provides students a chance to further develop their analytical skills, experience working in project management, and an opportunity to to work with real data and companies all through a sustainable framework. Although HR Science has different project teams, we still organize and work together in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Want to Work with Data?

Our team provides students with opportunities to learn and use data analytics tools, like R and Jamovi, to contribute to our research for each project team. The data we use is gathered from real companies, and we use this information to write professional data reports, research articles, and conference materials. The Sustainability Project Team has recently written a data report for consulting company Mercer LLC. In addition, we have also submitted materials at conferences for River City Industrial Organizational Psychology, Society for Personality and Social Psychology, and Society for Industrial Organizational Psychologists.

Make Professional Connections

The HR Science Research Team provides many opportunities to network as well as make professional connections with not only faculty within App State, but also professionals in other formal work environments (businesses, student/faculty from other universities, student organizations). Every project within HR Science submits a poster presentation to the River City Industrial Organizational Conference, where you have the opportunity to listen to and speak with other professionals in fields related to human resource sciences.
