Before applying for Non degree-seeking status through the Admissions office, confirm in writing with your Academic Advisor that our field course will satisfy the requirements of your degree.

After you complete your general application and are accepted to the program, you will complete the following steps:

1. Follow the link to apply to App State as a non degree-seeking student - link and more information here.

2. Complete the application.

3. Pay a $65 non-refundable application fee.

4. Submit an official copy of your high school transcript or official copy of college transcript.

5. After submission, let Dr. Lutz know when you receive your email with login information for the MyMountaineer portal

6. For Summer I courses (NM), you may officially register sometime in April and will be required to pay all tuition and course fees prior to departing on the trip. Contact Dr. Lutz to arrange payment or mail a check to Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences, Appalachian State University, 572 Rivers Street, Boone, NC 28608.

   1. Make the check out to "ASU GES" for the settled amount of course fees - provided by Dr. lutz

7. Once the course is complete, you will request an official transcript from App State's Registrar's Office be sent to your University's transfer credit office.
