About Me

Outside of my career at Appalachian State University I stay busy with my family and my extracurricular interests. Many of my hobbies overlap with my professional life in that I am an avid lover of travel and the outdoors, and particularly of rivers and water. A runner and cyclist from a very young age, I have always been interested in finding new, fun, and exciting ways to explore the world! I particularly enjoy being on the water; whitewater, flatwater, lakes, oceans. If there is a boat involved, I enjoy it! Additionally, my wife and I dedicate much of our free time to renovating our mountain home, and introducing our son to the wonders of the outdoors. In addition to my outdoor interests, I am also an ardent lover of music and good craft beer.
