Internship

Six total credit hours are required. One credit hour is equal to 50 contact hours. These hours are typically taken in the second year, with 3 credits taken in the fall and 3 credits taken in the spring semester, however, you can also take internship hours during the summer semester.

In addition to local cardiopulmonary rehabilitation internship sites, students have the option to complete hours at locations outside the immediate area. For those interested in pursuing opportunities closer to home or in different regions, our internship coordinator works directly with each student to secure appropriate placements. This flexibility is especially valuable for students completing hours outside of the academic semester, as it allows them to gain diverse experiences, expand professional networks, and tailor their training to their career goals.

Onboarding requirements differ across hospitals and may include training, health documentation, and background checks. Some of these requirements may result in additional costs.
