App State’s Clinical Exercise Physiology program offers small class sizes that promote interactive, encouraging, and engaging learning environments. Through internships, research, and hands-on experience, I gained the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the field. The Program of Study prepared me to pass the ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiology Certification which ultimately helped me secure a position as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist!

The clinical exercise physiology program provided me foundational knowledge of the clinical research world and gave me insight into job opportunities that I could pursue after graduation. I started my career gaining experience as a clinical research coordinator where I was able to apply what I learned at school to hands-on patient care. Now, I work as a project manager on autoimmune studies at a Contract Research Organization (CRO) alongside three of my program classmates!

The Clinical Exercise Physiology program at Appalachian State gave me a strong foundation by combining high-quality classroom education with meaningful clinical internship experience. Being able to immediately apply what I learned in real clinical settings helped me grow as an Exercise Physiologist and feel confident implementing what I have learned into real world practice. That balance also played a major role in preparing me for medical school and the next stages of my career.
