Our curriculum is designed to fully prepare students with the coursework and knowledge required to sit for the national certification exam in Clinical Exercise Physiology (ACSM-CEP). In addition, students complete 300 of the 600 required patient-contact hours in their internship hours completed during year 2. The remaining 300 hours are intentionally left flexible, allowing students to tailor their experiences to their career interests. This structure empowers students to gain hours through diverse opportunities, whether within their home communities, through faculty-led research projects, or at clinical sites beyond the immediate campus area. By diversifying where and how they complete these hours, students build a broader skill set, expand their professional networks, and gain exposure to varied patient populations.
