Pencil-drawn portrait of Gerard Way, circa 2006. The overall message of this piece is adherence and perseverance. In an apparent state of vanquish, Gerard looks up and away.

Contrary to common belief, even among the educated, this unfinished, conceptual pencil-drawn portrait of Evan Peters from FXs' American Horror Story isn't actually unfinished at all. Its implication and overall meaning is "perfection ruins distinction" a philosophy that I incorporate into my day-to-day life. It is a reminder that something does not need to be perfect, or in this case, completed, in order to be considered finished or satisfactory. The medium is the metaphor.

This was a self-portrait that I did in my junior year of high school for one of my art classes.
My professor took reference photos of everyone in the class and printed them out for us to base our portraits on. It was made using the grid method and was drawn and shaded entirely in ebony pencil. It took about 2 weeks in total to complete.

This is a free draw of one of my all-time favorite bands, My Chemical Romance.
I came home from class one day and wanted to practice negative and positive space and this was the outcome.

This is a free draw that I did in one of my classes in high school.
It is a depiction of a fellow classmate's eye, of whom I have since forgotten the name of. I have decided to include this because it is a perfect example of the type of content I would draw in class in my early years of art. It is one of the oldest artworks that I still have.
