This is a self-made book cover of my favorite book, "Amusing Ourselves To Death: Public Discourse in The Age of Show Business", by Neil Postman.
This was for my Intro to Media Publishing class that I took at App State during the Fall semester of 2022. The premise of this assignment was to remake any book cover of our choice in a way that shows how we interpreted the book.
Using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, I created every individual image pictured on the front and back covers as well as added some quotes from the book, and rearranged some of the text from the original back cover.

Original Back Cover
Here are the original front and back covers that I used as the reference for my final design pictured above.
In my opinion, the original cover is a bit bland and fails to convey the content and overall feel of the book. For this reason, I was very excited and honored to be able to create my own adaptation of it.
This was another assignment for my fall 2022 Media Publishing class.
The premise of the assignment was to pick any photo, whether it was of ourselves, friends, or just a stock photo, and make a composite image using Adobe Photoshop

I wanted to create something modern, creative, and something that my classmates would understand.

I think I did a pretty good job executing the project. It is modern, creative, and funny but not distasteful. I can happily say that my project was a fan favorite amongst my classmates.

This is a photo of me holding the Minecraft composite.
The photo was taken at the Mast General Store on King Street in Boone, North Carolina.
This project was completely extracurricular. I was buying a postcard to send to a friend from Italy and my boyfriend snapped a photo of me with it. When I got home, I was looking at the original photo and thought it would be funny to replace the original postcard image with my composite.
This is the Cover, information, and fun facts pages of my final project for my Media Publishing class.
The assignment was to choose any place or business, real or made up, and create a 12-page brochure. We had to obtain images and use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to edit and resize for print.
I chose to do my brochure on Boston, Massachusetts because it is my happy place and I hope to live there one day. I have extensive knowledge of the city's entire history and tourist activities/attractions so I thought it would be the perfect subject.

Throughout the semester, we played around with different styles and designs for the cover page of our brochures.
This was the first design I came up with. I ultimately decided not to go with this one for my final project because the space I had to work with wasn't sufficient. Be that as it may, I still really love this original design and decided that I would showcase it here.

This is yet another assignment I did for my Media Publishing class.
We had to create an infographic for Appalachian State's communications department using Adobe InDesign.
