• Certified staff meet in grade level or team PLCs once or two times each week. 

• These PLCs last 45 minutes and are a time for teams to plan, review student data and accommodations, and to receive professional development about instructional technology.

• Our regular staff meetings afterschool on Wednesdays are generally filled with other planned professional development. The rest of the day is full of morning and afternoon duties, core instruction, specials, recess, and lunch. 

• This makes PLCs the only consistent time to reach staff for smaller, personalized professional development. 

• Staff have multiple technology platforms that the district provides for instruction and housing student data for review.

• School staff are often being trained on new platforms and given new tasks and responsibilities with instruction, assessment, and documentation. 

• Professional development and course design needs to be mindful of the many roles that educators are balancing and trying to fulfill. 

• Staff have varying levels of experience with instructional technology.
