Instructional Routines
Get your students talking and interacting...
...with these instructional routines. Many of them will be familiar to you from Kagan's cooperative work, Susana Dutro, GLAD, AVID, QTEL and other resources which provide high-leverage instructional strategies. They have been built into K-5 science units for PPS and can be found in newly adopted language arts units. These strategies are essential for students to practice language, co-construct knowledge, and access grade-level content. Please let an ESL TOSA know if you have any questions or would like support.
EdNorthwest has put together a brief reference for QTEL strategies which many PPS teachers were trained on in recent years.
