Cool (Pizza) Down when it Heats Up: On a hot summer day, let your kids "veg out" with a no-bake pizza. Start with a pre-baked pizza crust and spread on a mixture of equal parts of low-fat cream cheese and ranch dressing. Encourage your kids to add their favorite veggies on top-try broccoloi florets, bell pepers, portabella mushrooms and diced green onion.
The above came from the Journal Inquirer food section on Wednesday, August 11, 2010.
Dinner in a Pumpkin (my kids enjoyed this when they were young-thought I'd share)
1 large pumpkin
1 ½ pounds ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 4 oz can sliced mushrooms, drained (I didn’t use this, just fresh, if any)
1-10 ¾ oz can cream of chicken soup
2 cups cooked rice
Cut the top from pumpkin and clean out seeds and stringy pulp. Then draw a face on the pumpkin with marker. In a large skillet, brown the onion and meet together. Add soy sauce, sugar, mushrooms, soup. Simmer 10 mins. Mix in rice, then pour mixture into pumpkin. Place filled pumpkin on cookie sheet or baking pan and bake one hour at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and place on a plate.

1/2 cup salt
2 tbsp cream of tartar
1 tbsp oil
1 cup boiled water
Food coloring of your choice
Zip lock bag or air tight container
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and cream of tartar
Add oil
Mix a few drops of food coloring into the boiling water and add to the mixture in the bowl.
Mix everything well, and then knead until the mixture is no longer sticky.
Allow to cool, and then either store in a zip lock bag, or wrap in plastic and put it in an airtight container.
Store at room temperature and it should last around 6 months.
*the amount of flour is still being worked on but you will probably be adding more as you knead it at the end.
