Classes-All

I like the way this woman explains developmentally appropriate practices (DAP). Remember...respect!

REFLECTION:

      • In one book I recently read from Boston Arts Academy, these were the questions they used to reflect on their work. They represent the best aspects of both the artistic and academic processes. We sometimes refer to them by the acronym “RICO”: Refine, Invent, Connect, and Own. One of my favorites is the Own as I believe students need to own their own education. How would these questions relate to te work you do for this program?

Refine

Have I conveyed my message?

What are my strengths and weaknesses?

Invent

What makes this work inventive?

Do I take risks and push myself?

Connect

Who is the audience and how does the work connect?

What is the context?

Own

Am I proud ofthe work I am doing?

What do I need to be successful?

When reflecting, please do not answer it via number but instead in story form. These are the guiding questions you will find on the form on Google Classroom:

Self Evaluation Questions:

1. Describe your lesson. Use terminology we have used with child development/ Child Care such as gross motor skills, fine motor skills, eye hand coordination, (Child Care: theorists).

2.How did you come up with this lesson? What references did you use?

3. Discuss the strong points of this lesson. In what areas could you improve? How?

4.If you were to do the lesson again what would you change? How? Why?

5. Explain what problems occurred during your lesson. Did you modify your original lesson because of these and if so, how?

6. Child Care: Which theorists do you feel would have appreciated this lesson and why?)
