President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)
The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) was created to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. Led by the AmeriCorps and managed in partnership with Points of Light, this award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action too.
This award is open to any student in the 6th grade or above and is a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e., green card holder). The award will be given to any student who completes the required number of eligible volunteer hours, based on their respective age category, within 12 months.

Eligible Service:
Unpaid acts of volunteer service benefiting others
Hours from other volunteer awards (Seal of Service, Congressional)
Eligible Service does not include:
Donating funds
Political lobbying (Non-partisan voter registration is an eligible activity)
Religious instruction/conduction
Proselytizing
Volunteer service performed as part of court-ordered community service
Serving only family members
