Points of Light

(Middle School Version)

Pomona Unified School District has always valued the importance of community bonds. Mrs. Lilia Fuentes, PUSD’s Deputy Superintendent, along with our school board and district believes in building a stronger alliance within the community. The Points of Light Award recognizes those who actively worked to create a stronger community.

This award will be given to any middle school student during their eighth-grade year  who has documented volunteer hours in our community throughout middle school. Students will receive recognition for any volunteer hours served throughout their middle school years, which can be applied to their university applications.

In order to receive this award, students must submit any volunteer hours they have earned throughout middle school with verification. Verification can include but is not limited to, physical timesheets/activity logs, photos of volunteer work, and volunteer advisor/coordinator letters of verification. Please confirm with college mentors for approval of the verification method. Students must submit hours using the provided digital timesheet along with any original timesheets/activity logs.
