Cortez's AVID Class

We would like to recognize Cortez’s AVID students for their service this year.

“Cortez AVID students have committed to community service. Some of the projects they have done this school year include a campus clean up and making a "Get Well" video message for an ill staff member. Recently, a group of these students volunteered at the annual Kindness Carnival in which they set up for the event and helped at some of the booths. The students have enjoyed their time serving and look forward to upcoming opportunities.” Ms. DeLeon, AVID Coordinator.

DB 4Youth MemberWhat is DB 4Youth? A program for teens, grade 8 to 12, to support the development of young community leaders, assist with community service opportunities, and create a positive impact among the Diamond Bar community. Monthly Meetings: Held the last Tuesday of every month starting at 6 p.m. at the Diamond Bar Center (1600 Grand Avenue). Is DB 4Youth Right for Me? DB 4Youth requires a strong commitment from its members. Members should be able to commit to monthly meetings and special events. members should also show that they are leaders in their community by arriving on time to all meetings and events, be creative, communicate effectively with all members and having a positive attitude. Our ultimate goal is to inspire all youth within Diamond Bar to become active participants in their community. Benefits of DB 4Youth: Civic engagement, knowledge of community, direct community impact, receive training and leadership skills, develop positive youth and adult relationships, expand your personal network, and represent teens by recommending action in the community.
