That's okay!!
Below is a brochure for Rettig Music's rental program. They can help you with a rental on any instrument your child is interested in learning. If you already have an instrument, I would suggest having Rettig Music's repair technicians check out the instrument to make sure it's in good working order - a defective instrument means it's more difficult (or impossible!) to play. Students get frustrated because they don't sound like the should...all because their instrument doesn't work!
Please feel free to e-mail me at the e-mail above if you have any other questions. I would be happy to stay after school some time to give your child the opportunity to try different instruments if they still haven't made up their mind.
If you have any questions, please e-mail me at verbsky.a@ottawaglandorf.org. You can call the high school office and ask for me if you’d like, but with my schedule, I’m not always in the band office. I look forward to meeting all of you and hopefully seeing your child be a member of the O-G band program. Go Titans!
Call Rettig at the number on the rental sheet, they'll be more than happy to get you set up and ready to go! [Defiance (419) 782-8876]
Potentially not, assuming you have the instrument your child is interested in playing! Have them bring it on the first day of band and I will check it to make sure it is in good working condition. Often old or used instruments that have sat around for a while need some minor repairs/maintenance to make them functional again. (This may incur some cost) FUN FACT: Many students quit band because they think they don't sound good - and more often than you'd think, it's because their instrument is defective!
Sort of. We do have some instruments available, but we reserve those for families who are in financial need of borrowing an instrument. Honestly, we don't have a lot available and try to keep some as back up instruments when some go to repair or need serviced.
This is a common question. Rettig Music has a really good rental option to help drastically lessen the blow to families when a child decides band isn't for them. I will say this: there is a SIGNIFICANT raise in student interest and success in band when the student has an instrument they can call their own (even if it is a rental).
YES. In fact, that's all that Rettig Music does. They have many options for payments and when to pay out or not. Our Rettig Music representative will be happy to answer any questions you may have!
