How we incorporate Racial Educaitonal Justice, Social Studies and Social Emotional Learning:
ALL ARE WELCOME AT RUBY BRIDGES
Our learning environment is inclusive and equitable
We read books that celebrate diversity and culture that reflect the student population
Students are encouraged to share what is important to them: who the student is, identity, culture, traditions, holidays, etc.
Students are encouraged to become upstanders, show empathy, and make principled decisions
Scholastic News Grade 1 is a weekly magazine for first graders that includes nonfiction articles and videos about science and social studies. The magazine's goal is to help children develop their reading and writing skills, vocabulary, and knowledge.
