Welcome to Band! 

This is an amazing class that teaches you fulfilling skills, such as self-discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. Each band student will get to choose one instrument (flute, clarinet, trumpet, or trombone) to commit to and learn for the whole year. On this instrument, you will learn beginning wind technique and how to play songs as a group using the concert B-flat Major scale. We will learn how to read music in two clefs (treble and bass) and play transposed instruments (C-instruments vs Bb-instruments) while playing with good tone together. You will build on everything you have learned so far in general music and get a taste for what it is like to be in a different type of music ensemble.  It can seem challenging at times, but overall, it is fun and rewarding to make friends while having accomplished playing these diverse instruments together. So let's make it a great year!
