Follow these instructions to get to the Art Docent Lessons:
1. Go to https://www.nsd.org/get-involved/volunteer/art-docent-program/families
2. Find/click on your child’s grade bar
3. Within each grade there will be artists with many lesson plans. Click on a lesson and you will find instructions. Lessons involve studying a work of art and then creating art based on the artist’s style.
4. To access a larger version of the art you are using for your lesson, I recommend you search the given artist for further images of their work on the internet.
5. For background information for you and your student, I suggest looking at Resources for Art Docents—also found on the left column, particularly the section on “Elements and Principles of Design.”
