The Spanish Lanuage B SL ("Nivel Medio") course is designed to provide you with the skills and understanding to successfully communicate in Spanish. As you move through the course, you will be developing skills in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, listening and cultural understanding. Additionally, you will understand how to use the language in a variety of contexts and for a variety of purposes. It is my hope you will develop a love of language learning and become aware and appreciate the different perspectives from the Spanish speaking world. Below is an explanation of the IB Assessments that will take place throughout this course. We will practice extensively in class with tasks similar to the ones presented below.
*Student selects one of two photographs, each labeled with a theme we have studied. The student may write brief annotations (up to 10) on a note card during a supervised preparation time (15 minutes). The student will present their photo (3-4 minutes) and have a discussion (5-6 minutes) that follows the presentation component. This is recorded and scored by your teacher, but externally moderated by IB.
The following verb tenses are ones that you should be comfortable with by now. Most of us forget things along the way, so here is a great way to help you review. Click on the links below first for a mini-lesson refresher of each concept. Then, be sure to follow up by clicking the links on the left of the screen for a free basic quiz and a mini test specific to each concept. There may also be a free link for oral practice (oral 1). If you still don´t feel comfortable with the most basic concepts (first on the list), it is critical that you take initiative and practice on your own. Please, see me for additional resources if you feel you need more practice.
