During the 2025-26 school year, we have two active dashboards on members.mastery.org. The "Innovation Lab High School" dashboard is our original dashboard. During this school year, this dashboard will be used only for our seniors. The "Innovation Lab High School 2025" dashboard is our new dashboard with our new skills, which will be used for 9th-11th graders.
Any current 9th-11th graders who earned a mastery skill under our old set of skills need to have those skills transferred into the new system. This is a one-time event to transition from one set of skills to the other. Sadly, there is no way to do this automatically, so each Crew leader will transfer the skills for each of their Crew members. No changes are required for current seniors, since they are still using the old set of skills.
NEEDS TO BE FINALIZED WHEN PROCESS IS READY:
Log into members.mastery.org.
Go to the "Innovation Lab High School 2025" dashboard by clicking the dropdown selection box at the top of the main screen.
Go to the Progress Tracker.
Open or print the Skills to be Entered sheet [link].
In the spreadsheet, scroll down to your Crew.
Enter the skills fro the spreadsheet into the Progress Tracker for each student in your Crew.
Enter the date you entered these skills into the spreadsheet so we can verify that all student data has been transferred.
When you open the Progress Tracker, you see every skill for every student. It is often slow to navigate this way. It is better to type in at least part of the student's name in the search field above the list of names to narrow it. (You don't even need to press Enter. It searches as you type.)
Once narrowed down to just one student, navigation is faster and much less cluttered.
You are probably wondering if there's a way to filter it to just show students in your Crew. So far, there is no such feature available, but there are rumors that it is a planned feature.
The Progress Tracker gives you an at-a-glace picture of the student's progress toward earning every skill. Scroll sideways to see all skills.
The + skills along the top are the Advanced skills.
The darker the shading for the square, the further the student is toward Earned.
To change a skill's status, click on the square for that skill. A panel will open on the right side of your screen, where you can make changes. When you click a box, you toggle it between checked and unchecked, which respectively grants or removes that skill from the student. No saving or confirmation is required, which is both easy and dangerous. Make sure you mean to click the boxes you are clicking.
When granting a skill, you can attach linked evidence or add a comment to track the reason for the change.
The Progress Tracker and MLR data are not the same on the backend. So, when you make a change in the Progress Tracker, it does not automatically show up in a student's MLR (and visa versa). The data appears on the other side only when we click the button to manually sync changes. Only MLR admin have that option. Our MLR admin are typically school admin, registrar, counselor, and senior Crew leaders. If you feel you should have admin rights, talk to someone who does have admin rights.
Cautions:
This will only sync fully earned skills from the Progress Tracker to the MLR. It will not sync skills that are still in progress.
Early testing also showed that skills could be added through the sync process, but skills removed on one side would not be removed from the other upon sync. If an error is found in a student's record that requires removing a skill, it would be best to make that change manually in both systems.
Prior to the 2025-26 school year, staff was wholly responsible for granting skills to students. Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, we are shifting that responsibility to students. As much as possible, we want students to submit a request to advance to the next level in a skill and include evidence for it. When they submit it, they can request a specific staff member to approve it.
Click on a student's name in the Progress Tracker to view additional details about the student's journey. This is identical to how students view their Progress Tracker data.
Progress: Shows the same information as seen in the main Progress Tracker page, just expanded out with skills listed vertically instead of horizontally.
Timeline: Shows which skills were earned when.
Evidence: Shows all Evidence associated with the student's skills. Evidence submitted in the Progress Tracker does not appear on a student's MLR (nor visa versa).
Activity: Shows all changes to the student's skills, including who made what change and when.
