Since you enrolled in a distance education class, it is presumed that you have reliable access to a computer/laptop/chromebook/mobile device and WiFi throughout the semester. All of our class work and assignments are completed in Canvas, which pretty much covers all of the technology requirements. Really the technology you need for this class can be found in Los Rios Apps. Here you will be able to access Canvas, Gmail, Google Drive, Zoom and much more! Although there is nothing mandatory or required in Los Rios Apps, these tools are here to help you be successful.
Be sure to create a back-up plan in case of technological emergencies.

It is difficult to learn without having some foundational academic materials. This course uses Open Educational Resources (OER) — no textbook purchase required. I have chosen OER textbooks for this course because I believe access to learning should not depend on what you can afford to pay. The OpenStax textbook is peer-reviewed, regularly updated, and used in introductory psychology courses across the country. If you encounter any access issues with the textbook or supplementary materials, contact me right away and we will work to resolve them.

NotebookLM Topic Podcasts — Audio podcasts of key topics are posted weekly in the course Canvas site. These are an alternative to reading the textbook if you learn better through audio or if you need to fit course content into a commute, walk, or other listening time.
Module Vocabulary Lists — These are provided each week to support your Inquiry with AI work and guide your learning.
Nectir AI — A course-specific AI tutor trained with our course materials to help you learn. More information about Nectir is provided in the AI Policy section and this is required for the Inquiry with AI assignments.
