The course is divided into 4 units, each culminating with a lecture exam worth 115 points and a lab exam worth 110-120 points.
Lecture exams will consist of multiple choice, fill-in-the-blanks, matching and short answer questions.
Laboratory exams are timed exams requiring that you identify the materials listed in your lab manual and interpret physiological data from lab experiments.
Sorry, but there will be no make-up exams, except with documented emergencies!
You will also be evaluated on several homework and lab assignments totaling 185 points. These assignments are listed on the class schedule with point values and due dates. Homework is assigned in two ways. For each physiology lab, there will be a document (Word/Excel) which you can access from the module of that week. Additional homework will be assigned online using Mastering A&P. All homework assignments must be typed.
There will be 2-3 quizzes for each unit. Many are a review of the unit, but some may require you to research and/or study a particular topic outside of class time. Each quiz is worth 5 points and the material may show up on the unit test as well.
ATTENTION: No extra credit work is available.
I expect that all students will behave honorably. Cheating will result in a zero on the assignment or exam and you will be reported to the Dean and Vice President. Students work extremely hard to successfully earn an A or B in this course. It is unfair and unethical to misrepresent your potential to professional programs.
Examples of cheating include (but are not limited to):
Copying another person’s work or submitting work that is not your own.
Changing answers after work has been graded
Using notes, a cell phone, or any other aid during an exam.
