Schoology is our online classroom (Learning Management System) for grades 6-12 at all Roseville schools. Schoology is both a website and app where students can:
communicate with teachers
turn in assignments
access class materials.
Students are enrolled in their courses on Schoology automatically. For grades 7-12, current scores on assignments are entered into the Schoology gradebook, and parents can login to their parent Schoology account to see current grades (final grades are entered into Synergy each term). Scroll down for more information on Schoology Parent Accounts.
Students can submit assignments from Notability, take quizzes in Schoology, or follow links in Schoology to get to Zoom meetings or other websites for learning.
Students and teachers can message each other in Schoology.
Teachers create assignments and provide links in Schoology.
Teachers can enter grades and provide feedback to students.
Can see course materials
Can view their child's assignment submissions.
Receive weekly email with a summary of overdue assignments, grade summary and more.
Students automatically have a Schoology account and do not need to sign up for one. The Schoology app is automatically installed on School iPads also.
To log in, students should choose their school under the option to "Sign in through my school". Then, they should use their district username (not email address) and password.
In addition, students may sign in to their Schoology account on a computer or other personal device or phone. To do this, start at Schoology.isd623.org and sign in with their district username and password (using their username NOT email).
It can be helpful for students to login to Schoology through Safari on their school iPads for full functionality. Here is how.
Note: If you are using Schoology on a computer or personal device, you won't have access to Notability. You will need to be on your district iPad to use your Notability app.
Parents can see their child's courses, grades, and all school announcements.
Parents can sign up to receive a Schoology Digest- weekly or daily. You can get an email sent to you with a summary of all of your child's activity on Schoology during that day or week. Here are instructions to turn on or off those emails.
Parents can see discussion boards, but all other students names will be shown as "Anonymous" except your own child.
Parents cannot use Schoology private messaging. Instead, email your child's teacher using first.last@isd623.org
Parents should sign in at app.schoology.com/login
Starting the fall of 2021, Schoology Parent Accounts are automatically created for the first parent/guardian listed in ParentVue(Synergy). Emails will be automatically sent out each fall when a new Schoology Parent Account is created for you. If you did not get an email with Schoology Parent Account information, are new to the district mid-year, or need to add an additional child to your existing account request assistance here.
Have students in more than one school district? Here's how to Link Schoology Parent Accounts Across Different Organizations.
Please email jamie.crandall@isd623.org to request to have your Schoology account closed (marked inactive). If you still have younger children in Roseville Area Schools, instead, turn off your notifications and leave your account active for the future.
If you have an account and want help navigating the system:
If your child is having trouble with Schoology, they have a few options.
Ask your teacher if it is something related to course content, like there is a link that doesn't work or if there should be a document to open that is missing.
