The I-Beams for this project are huge. They weigh nearly 300 lbs each and are over 20 feet long. This makes them difficult to move or work with.

The design of the bridge requires that students drill holes at specific locations and moving the I-Beams to the drill press is impossible.

The manufacturing students solved this problem by modifying the drill press so that it moves! You will notice from the photo that they have designed and created a guide that allows the drill to slide along the I-Beam!
