Every Mistake You Make Is Progress!

Hello All,

My name is Kyle Schanning. I attended college at Northern Michigan University where I studied History Education and Geography Education. I began my career in education as a high school social studies teacher in Basalt, CO. From there I moved on to teach 8th grade American History and Reading Strategies at Superior, WI. Currently I am in my seventh year of education instruction and am excited to start my second year teaching 6th grade Minnesota History and Reading Language Arts in Fairmont, MN.

In my spare time I love to go bird and deer hunting. I travel all over bird hunting with my amazing black lab, Lucy ,and my beautiful wife, Kate. My wife and I also enjoy traveling. This past summer we spent 6 weeks on the road camping in Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier, Waterton, and BANFF.

I enjoy working with children and helping them reach their dreams through education. As I stated on my home page, I believe in the growth mindset. When students believe they can get smarter, they understand that effort makes them stronger.
