A new, optional tool is available for secondary staff to stay connected with their students and families beginning January 25, 2021. Remind allows secure text messaging to students and families that maintains the privacy of staff’s personal phone numbers and provides staff with legal protection. SoWashCo was able to purchase this platform with CARES funding.

For staff already using the free version of Remind, your account can be merged with the paid district account.

All of your classes will be automatically generated, including student and family contacts. Previous users will not lose manually generated classes and contacts in this merge.

Setup Your Rostered Account

SoWashCo has upgraded to The Remind Plan. Your administrator has created an account for each secondary teacher. You'll receive an email from Remind with a link and directions to log in.

Note: When you log into your rostered account, you may get a notification that indicates you have duplicate Remind account - if you have used more than one email address or phone number with Remind, or if your contact information has changed since you first signed up for Remind. If you merge your duplicate accounts, any private conversations from the merged account will not transfer over, but all new conversations will be in your linked account moving forward. If you believe you've merged an account in error, please contact our Support team via rmd.me/help.

Notify Your Community

Remind has created the following email templates to help you start the conversation about Remind in your community. We recommend introducing Remind to ensure the rollout is as smooth and effective as possible. The purpose is to inform your community that Remind will be used to communicate important district-wide, school-wide, and class information, increasing the opportunities for community engagement.
