PSEO
PSEO is a program that allows 10-12th grade high school students to take college courses while in high school . Most classes are taken on the campus of a college, however some colleges also offer online opportunities. All students must meet certain qualifications in order to participate and having good grades is key to this opportunity.

PROCESS TO PARTICIPATE
Step 1: ATTEND INFORMATIONAL MEETING at OSH
Students who wish to participate in PSEO should attend an in-person meeting or watch the informational video that will be posted in late January. These meetings will provide a general overview of PSEO and the basic steps and timeline to apply.
The in-person meeting will last 1/2 hour and will be on Wednesday, January 17 at 4:45 PM in the Forum Room. This meeting will start promptly at 4:45.
Students and families interested in PSEO should watch this video if they did not attend the in-person meeting.
The sessions are only for students new to PSEO; current PSEO students do not need to attend a meeting or watch the video.
Step 2: INDIVIDUAL MEETING & APPLY (February 8 - May 15)
Optional: February 8 - An informational Q & A session will be held in the CRC at 1:30. This meeting is for students who have already attended the in-person meeting or watched the PSEO video who have more questions. Interested students sign up in the CRC.
Required: Students who are interested in participating in PSEO should reach out to their school counselor to schedule an individual meeting. Students should schedule a meeting after they have attended the in-person meeting (on January 17 or watched the PSEO video - posted above at the end of January). Materials must be turned in to the Osseo Counseling Office by May 15th for processing time. Please note that some colleges have earlier deadlines and it is the student's responsibility to pay attention to deadlines and turn in materials at least 2 weeks prior to a deadline. For example, the University of Minnesota has an April 15th deadline.
Application Materials typically include the following:
1) Online PSEO Application (on specific college's website)
2) PSEO 3 Part form - please bring the form to your appointment.
3) Request that your transcript be sent through Parchment
4) Complete the District PSEO Agreement Form.
5) Supply any other materials requested by the college.
Step 3: (By May 30) Students must notify their counselor of their intention to participate in PSEO.
Step 4: Students who have been accepted to the PSEO program, follow the college's next steps (i.e. testing, orientation, registration, etc.). Communication will come directly from the the college to the student. If you are a part-time PSEO student, when registering for your PSEO classes at your college registration session make sure your schedule does not conflict with your Osseo schedule. Ideally college classes should NOT be scheduled in the middle of the Osseo school day for part-time PSEO students. Once you know your PSEO schedule share it with your OSH Counselor.
Step 5: (August) Schedule a meeting with your OSH Counselor to finalize your PSEO schedule/OSH schedule. Bring a copy of your PSEO schedule to your counselor appointment. Your OSH schedule will be adjusted at this time.
Step 6: (October) Students should schedule a meeting with your OSH Counselor to discuss plan for second semester courses. You will need to complete a new 3 part form (NOSR Form).
Step 7: After registering for second semester, send your OSH counselor a copy of your PSEO schedule.
