PARENT TIPS FOR YOUR STUDENT'S ACADEMIC SUCCESS

  • Set expectations for your student to do homework every night. (Most students will need 1-2 hours daily.)

  • Check in with your student each day about what homework they have and whether or not they got it done.

  • Help your student create a space in your house where they can study each day. Also help them budget a regular study time each night.

  • Check ParentVue once/week and discuss what you see with your student.

  • Get to know your student's teachers. (Come to Learning Conferences Sept. 12, October, January and April Parent Teacher Conferences, email or call, sign up for Schoology.)

  • Help your student learn to ask for help when they need it. Teachers are available to help as are counselors, administrators and social workers

  • Share some time each day with your student to find out how their day was, how they are doing and let them know you love them!

  • Encourage your student to get involved in at least one extracurricular sport or club.
