Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)

Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is a program that allows primarily juniors and seniors to earn both high school and college credit while still in high school, through enrollment in and successful completion of college-level, nonsectarian courses at eligible participating postsecondary institutions. Most PSEO courses are offered on the campus of the postsecondary institution; some courses are offered online. Each participating college or university sets its own requirements for enrollment into the PSEO courses. Eleventh and 12th-grade students may take PSEO courses on a full- or part-time basis; 10th graders are eligible to enroll in PSEO on a more limited basis.

PSEO Information Session

Interested students need to have attended or viewed a PSEO Information Session. If you missed the in-person presentations in January, you should view the recording, which can be found here. Students are required to attend a session before next steps, as the sessions review PSEO application basics including the timeline and application process. You will need to complete the attendance form QR Code, which will appear during the presentation. After you complete the attendance form, you can move to the next steps below.

Planning Timeline:

February - March:

Counselors will start seeing students for PSEO after February 20th.      Students with summer deadlines must have all applications materials completed and submitted by May 16th in order to allow processing time for summer break.  Complete your online PSEO applications prior to this appointment. Bring the signed required forms with you to your appointment. Your transcript will be sent in to your college(s) by our Registrar, along with your completed NOSR form.

March – August: Students that have been accepted to the PSEO program, take placement exams (if applicable), attend orientation at the college and register for college classes for fall term.

May 30: Firm deadline to notify your counselor of your intent to participate.

August: Meet with your MGSH school counselor to share your finalized PSEO schedule and make any necessary schedule adjustments. If you are a part-time student, keep in mind the MGSH Daily Schedule  when you are choosing your course selections.

October:  Meet with your MGSH School Counselor to plan their second semester courses. You will need to complete a new NOSR at that time.

Your school counselor will review these with you at your appointment. We place them on this site as a reference for later.
