The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning youth under the age of 25.
Our services provide many choices including culturally relevant patient education or community-based support and advocacy groups. Treatment options include inpatient, partial hospitalization, and day treatment. Outpatient services, including medication management and therapy in an outpatient setting, are available in the M Health Psychiatry Clinic and at Fairview Counseling Centers.
Our Behavioral Emergency Center (BEC) is open 24/7 for anyone in crisis, for assessment, evaluation, and care: 612-273-5640. In an emergency call 911.
Emergency services: Any person (any age) who requires behavioral emergency care will be seen 24/7 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, West Bank Emergency Department. Services include assessment and referral for anyone having a mental health and/or substance abuse crisis.
The Behavioral Health services staff have earned the credentials, certifications and/or licenses to work with children who have a full range of mental health and chemical dependency issues. Our support staff includes nurses, clinical supervisors, chemical-dependency counselors, special-education teachers, recreational therapists, chaplains, family therapists and cultural liaisons. We provide a large network of psychologists, therapists, counselors and psychiatrists. Your child may participate in services that are provided in the hospital or at a clinic closer to home.
