This trimester we will explore some apps that help you make your own music. Lesson #1 will explore the Song Maker app from the Chrome Music Lab.
1. WATCH the video tutorial linked in the lesson to learn how to use Song Maker.
2. READ the directions and grading rubric carefully.
3. CLICK on the link to Chrome Music Lab. Select Song Maker.
4. SHARE a link to your song.
5. OPTIONAL- explore the other apps in Chrome Music Lab.
You will need a plastic cup for part of our lesson.

2. CREATE your own cup pattern. See attached PDF in Schoology for full directions.
3. SUBMIT a video in Schoology of you performing your cup pattern

2= My cup pattern uses 2 different actions or is less than 16 beats long. My beat is sometimes steady and my performance is sometimes accurate.
1= My cup pattern is less than 12 beats and I struggle to perform my pattern or I did not follow directions.

Digital Academy Students: In the video lesson we alternated from singing aloud to audiating (singing in our heads). Create your own version of the Global Greetings song. Choose where you will sing and speak out loud, and where you will think the tune in your head. Complete the assignment by sharing a recording or video of your version of Global Greetings. Digital Academy Students: In the video lesson we practiced reading rhythm notation. Now let’s practice writing rhythm notation (ta, ti-ti and rest). Open the attached document. Copy each pattern on the line below. Write neatly. You may choose to complete the assignment with Notability OR you may choose to write the patterns on paper and take a picture of your work. Submit your completed work to Schoology.

Pick a musical activity to try:
Sing a song you know. Trying singing it super fast! Then try singing the song super slow.
Make hand motions or dance moves to help tell the story of a favorite song.
Teach someone your favorite song. Have them sing it with you.
Go on a listening walk. Pay attention to all of the different sounds around you.
